DTN COMMENTS: A few bids are on the table in parts of Kansas, and
Nebraska, but they continue to be passed. Current asking prices are
around $225 in the South, and $340-plus in the North. Significant trade
volume could be delayed until later today and/or tomorrow, but packer
inquiries should continue to improve as the day progresses.

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 363.03 -0.78, select 349.90 -
3.22) with light to moderate box movement (67.88 lds of choice cuts,
14.18 lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 4.39 lds of ground). Live
cattle futures near the top of the noon hour are modestly to sharply
higher, while feeder issues are mostly sharply higher.
